This is cross posted from another forum with the permission of the original poster. Hope its okay to put on here?

Dear All

I had a cry for help
I have a lady that has to find new homes for all her animals. Due to illness she can't travel but I have volunteered to help her out a bit. She has a LOT of animals! I don't know how many but it sounds like a lot. She needs homes for her rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, chip monks, degus, hamsters, sugar gliders, gerbils. If you know of anyone that would like to re-home any of the previous she also has some cages that go with some of them. Please do pass on my details and we can work something.

Kindest regards,

Lily

I may be able to find a home for mice or hamsters. Are there any more details on ages and genders? Also where abouts are they located as I'm not able to travel to far.

Thanks

Hi Lizzie72

I'm sorry, I don't know, I was just asked to cross post the message by a friend who runs a ferret rescue.

If you gave Lily a ring she'd be able to give you more information (or find out for you). She's a lovely lady and is offering to help with transport too ;)

Thank you!

As far as we know, this is sorted for the time being.

However, it seems that the lady who owned the animals still has some in two rooms that she won't unlock.... there may be another call for help soon.

Kim, you're not wrong.

I've not been very involved with this rescue (not least because its in Surrey and I live in Cumbria), I was just trying to cross post in the hope of finding some homes.

From what I understand though, the animals that have come out of this home are in a horrendous state.  A lovely lady on another forum has taken on two of the guinea pigs, both have needed extensive vet care, a huge amount of her time and energy and one is pregnant.

Its hard to know what to do, there are various agencies working with this woman, but if the poor souls that have already come out of that house are anything to go by, I dread to think of the state of the various animals in those two locked rooms.

I'll update as and when I know any more.

I'm about to move into a house I've fell in love with, in a beautiful village in Cumbria.

I have 12 pets in total, all of them rescues, all of them crazy and I can;t imagine life without them! They are my pride and joy

 I've just come across this post now...how sad. I wonder if she just got carried away and then couldn't cope with the numbers or something.
